HORUS

This piece is titled “HORUS” and was inspired by growing interest in #spirituality #energy and #ancientcultures Horus was the god of kingship healing, protection, the sun and the sky. The Eye of Horus was used as a sign of prosperity and protection, derived from the myth of Isis and Osiris. This symbol has an astonishing connection between neuroanatomical structure and function. Artistically, the Eye is comprised of six different parts. The Eye of Horus symbolizes the sun and light (represented by the colour white). It is considered a symbol of protection both for the living and for those who are no longer there. It is said to be effective against disease, the evil eye, betrayal and enchantment. As a collective species we must all learn to ascend and rise together in an effort to better understand ourselves and our history and where we came from; to steer where our future will take us. 48x60” acrylic and spray paint, glitter, pastel on canvas.
